The Water Resource Bureau of the Taichung City Government recently conducted a construction meeting regarding the Guguan sewerage system in the conference rooms of the Hrung Church and Uni-Resort. This initiative aims to enhance the environment and quality of life in the Dajia River Basin while also boosting the local tourism industry. The bureau announced that the construction of the Guguan sewerage system in Taichung City is about to commence fully. This project will construct a sewage treatment system, including a water resource recycling center, and accelerate user pipe connection operations to uniformly and centrally treat household sewage. Besides reducing water pollution sources in the Dajia River Basin, ensuring that it is not polluted, and recycling water resources to create a better environment for the Guguan area.

According to Shih-Yi Fan, the Director of the Water Resource Bureau, the city government is actively promoting water quality and water source protection initiatives along the Dajia River. The Guguan sewage treatment system is the last piece of the entire project, located within the territory of the Aboriginal Hrung Tribe. Last year, with the active assistance of the Heping District Office and the tribal chairman, the tribal consultation meeting approved the project construction. The project’s objectives include the establishment of a water resource recycling center and the installation of approximately 2,000 meters of sewage treatment facilities and pipelines.

The Water Resource Bureau organized a construction briefing meeting, invited village chiefs and residents to participate in a collaborative discussion regarding the Guguan area’s sewerage system construction and user pipe connection matters. The planning and execution of this project involve collaboration and efforts from multiple parties. The Water Resource Bureau was committed to communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with manufacturers about engineering design and supervision. At the same time, the bureau also made the village chiefs fully aware of the environmental improvement that this project will bring, as well as the future impact and vision to achieve full coordination with the residents. Create a scene of public-private collaboration and ensure that it meets the needs of residents. (8/31 * 16) * Water Resource Bureau
