Taichung City Government aims to provide both a sports venue for citizen sports and a high-quality performance venue for performance groups. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create a platform for Taichung City to align with international standards in preparation for the future completion of the Taichung Arena. The Water Resources Bureau of the Taichung City Government is carrying out the "Taichung City Arena Sewage Piping Improvement Project around the Taichung Arena" to optimize the sewage piping system in and around the Taichung Arena Park. The bureau has scheduled to complete it by the end of this year. It has built a complete sewage system ahead of schedule for the area around the Taichung Arena, which has recently successfully attracted investment to create a livable environment.

According to the Water Resources Bureau, the cost of the "Taichung City Arena Sewage Piping Improvement Project around the Taichung Arena" is approximately NTD 39.2 million. The sewage from highly intensive activities in Arena Park is collected and transported to the water resource recycling center for proper treatment to provide a high-quality leisure environment and create a livable city to cooperate with the development plan of Taichung Arena Park by the City Government. The project investigates the speed and safety of pedestrians in the surrounding area of the work area through advanced construction methods. They also implement work area risk assessment, high-risk operation standards, active and passive monitoring, and other operation procedures. The city government also actively combines the Internet of Things (IoT) to implement safety management, AI identification, safety, health innovation, and technological applications to create intelligent construction sites to improve the project's overall safety.

The Water Resources Bureau explained that the sewage project has successfully become a critical infrastructure, optimizing the park's environment. This achievement underscores the bureau's strong commitment to implementing occupational safety and health standards during construction. This year, it has successively won the recognition of the excellent project of the Golden Peace Mind Award of Taichung City and the honorable project of the Public Construction Golden Safety Award of the Ministry of Labor. Thanks to the joint efforts of Chao Hsing Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd., the design supervision unit of this case, and Dunxing Construction, the construction unit. The Water Resources Bureau will jointly create a "safe, healthy, and zero occupational accidents" construction environment besides adhering to the labor-oriented concept.
