The Taichung City Government Water Resources Bureau has set up a parent-child play area on the large lawn of the Futian Water Resources Recovery Center in the South District. Meanwhile, the picturesque neighborhood parks near the Wenshan Water Resources Recovery Center in Nantun District and the Fengyuan Water Resources Recovery Center offer excellent spots for a stroll during the Spring Festival. These locations will be open during the Spring Festival from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, inviting everyone to come and enjoy.
To foster closer ties with the community, the Water Resources Bureau has transformed the hills at the Futian Water Resources Recovery Center in the South District into a fun-filled play area for children. This area includes slides, grass sledding slopes, climbing structures, and a distinctive water-patterned pathway. Additionally, the extensive green space provides an excellent setting for outings, picnics, and recreation, inviting visitors to have fun to their hearts’ content. Meanwhile, a 2,600-ping neighborhood park has been set up at the Fengyuan Water Resources Recovery Center based on surrounding ecological resources. Equipped with a scenic pond, fitness facilities, and a circular walking trail, it offers a welcoming space for residents to relax and enjoy.
Also, the Wenshan Water Resources Recovery Center in Nantun District has been enhanced with facilities such as a basketball court and a tennis court built atop the final sedimentation tank, providing a space for sports enthusiasts. Surrounding the center is a 0.8-hectare green landscape, an ecological purification pond, a flowing aeration channel, and a scenic water pond. With its biodiversity, hydrophilicity, and educational purposes, this area offers a tranquil retreat where water and greenery coexist, offering a diverse recreational space. During the Spring Festival, residents are encouraged to bring their families and experience the center’s unique ambiance. In addition to its primary function of wastewater treatment, the center also serves as a relaxing and rejuvenating space for the public.
The Water Resources Bureau advises residents to be mindful of kitchen waste disposal during the Lunar New Year, as holiday meals often involve oily and heavy dishes. Avoid pouring used cooking oil or food scraps directly into the sink to prevent drainage blockages. Instead, let hot oil cool first and store it in a sealed container for proper disposal through recycling services or in the trash. Use a strainer to catch food scraps and keep them from entering the sewer system, as grease can solidify in cold temperatures and food waste buildup may cause blockages, ultimately disrupting daily life.
